On January 20, 2026, the Yutan City Council approved Ordinance #816 to adopt the Yutan Community's Zoning Code , including the Official Zoning Map . Following state law and proper procedure for ordinance adoption, the ordinance will become effective on February 4, 2026. City Staff will continue using the current zoning ordinance (located here ) until February 4th.

The City of Yutan worked with Five Rule Planning to create the currently-effective Comprehensive Plan; Five Rule also created a Downtown Revitalization Plan and a Housing Study. The City of Yutan was able to secure grant funding through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and grants through NIFA to help offset the costs of these projects.
